I am moving from NJ right outside of Philadelphia to the Atlanta area. My job is in Norcross by The Forum. Me and my wife are looking to rent an apt or house for 6 months to a year before buying. We are struggling to find area's that seem to be nice. We are coming down on Tuesday and Wednesday for a final house hunting trip with focus on Brookhaven and Buckhead. Any other area's would be great suggestions.

Peachtree Corners, Georgia - Peachtree Corners
I believe there are a number of apts/condos located on Holcomb Bridge Rd.

City of Dunwoody, Georgia
There are apartments on Ashford Dunwoody Rd near Perimeter Mall.

Isn't The Forum close to Spalding Drive? It's just off Peachtree Industrial Blvd at Peachtree Corners--which is a good area. Spalding Drive runs through Dunwoody to Sandy Springs and into the Alpharetta area which is at the top of many lists.

Since you state you are interested in Brookhaven and Buckhead I wonder if you need/want to be ITP rather than OTP? Inside the Perimeter/Outside the Perimeter.

Dunwoody is adjacent to Brookhaven/Buckhead, FYI and closer intown than Alpharetta or Johns Creek.

Roswell would also be a good choice.

Moving to atlanta soon? Read this first

Read this. Then post again.

Also, what is your budget? The area directly around The Forum is very nice and relatively affluent. That being said, it isn't cheap.

I have to wonder if the OP knows that Buckhead/Brookhaven is one of the most expensive areas of Atlanta.

There have been several posts where someone in a company suggested an area that was not really convenient or within a price range that the relocator could afford.

I like the northwest side of Gwinnett, personally, and it shouldn't be that bad of a commute to The Forum area. Hate the intown traffic for one thing and love the Chattahoochee River. Adding Duluth, Suwanee and Buford to the list of places to consider.
