Hello all! We are relocating to the area to be closer to my parents. I'm looking for a true preschool (a few hours a week), not a day care, for my 4yo dd. My older kids will be attending Shallowford Falls elementary, if that helps location wise.

Is there any chance I can get into a school this late in the game? In Texas we registered way back in February!

Thanks!

There are several church preschools in the area that would fit your criteria. Mt Zion on Johnson Ferry Rd in Marietta (East Cobb) is great, St Anns as well (Catholic). St Peter St Paul has a good one as does St Catherines (all in East Cobb). High Meadows (Roswell) and Woodacres (East Cobb) have non church affiliated programs that are very good but a bit more expensive. I am a little nutty when it comes to schools so all of the ones I recommend I have visited and seriously considered. My child attended both St Anns and Mt Zion. Both were excellent. High Meadows would have been my first choice if the others hadn't been significantly less money and comparable in terms of what we wanted in a preschool. You can also look into Georgia pre K (its free) for year before kindergarten but we did not like any of the ones in the area (most if not all are also daycares).

Slots do fill up but we moved here in January and had no problem finding a spot. All of these would be just a short drive coming from the Shallowford Falls area.

You might want to consider Village Montessori School off Woodstock Road. There's a chance they still may have some spots open.
