Default Ga saved Hip Hop and Country music

Georgians are prevalent on two very different radio charts: country and hip hop.

Seven of the top 15 acts on the country radio charts have Georgia ties while eight of the top 20 hip-hop songs also have local ties, according to Mediabase 24/7.

Here’s the list of country acts:
2. Luke Bryan “Rain is a Good Thiing”
5. Jason Aldean “Crazy Town.”
7. Zac Brown Band “Free”
11. Lady Antebellum “Our Kind of Love”
12. Jaron & the Long Road to Love “Pray For You”
14. Billy Currington “Pretty Good at Drinking Beer”
15. Little Big Town “Little White Church”

And here are the R&B/hip-hop acts:
2. Usher “OMG”
3. Usher “There Goes My Baby”
5. Ciara “Ride” (w/ Ludacris)
7. Ludacris “Sex Room”
11. Soulja Boy “Pretty Boy Swag”
17. Monica “Love All Over Me” (top left)
19. The-Dream “Make Up Bag”
20. Kanye West “Power”

LOL

It's more like the buying public and the music industry moved on. Obviously, it is a personal thing to like certain types of music, but killed hip-hop? This line of reasoning always kills me. It assumes that there is vast amount of music and artists being held down by Atlanta hip-hop and r&b artists plus the record companies in some nefarious plan to destroy hip-hop. It totally has nothing to do with the general public and entertainment industry clamoring for it as the music charts show.

that's ridiculous. there are great artists from atlanta, and there are terrible artists from atlanta. and some of the greatest musicians in history are from nowhere near georgia. kanye hails from chicago. as does his style of music.

but at the same time, it cannot be denied that today's mainstream music is of much less quality than even mainstream in the 90s. atleast, that's the opinion most people have. but it's crazy for people to try to blame that on atlanta. it's the record companies fault. they're becoming more and more greedy as the years go by.
