thanks so much! ugh, i've been reading over the threads about good schools/bad schools and good areas/bad areas and it's making my stomach churn. some of the areas in gwinnett county that were on "the list" don't seem to have such a great reputation. but, i'm hoping since some of the posts were from 2006 that i can ignore them . i've also heard traffic in gwinnett is horrid, and i'm wondering how bad it can really be. we really want the shortest commute possible for dh.

i also checked out money mag's top areas to live, and for 2010, there weren't many places in GA listed. my.head.is.spinning. i get leery of going by test scores, but oh well, i should really just calm down already as who knows when we'll get any concrete info as to whether or not we're going. thanks to all who posted!

thanks, flyonpa! the school thing really is so confusing--i hate going by test scores and i don't want to put the girls in a school where teaching to the test drives the curriculum. i did look into some private schools in the area and holy cow, they're quite a bit more pricey than they are here (at least for elementary). i would love if we could live in suwannee since dh would be working there--the thought of him not being gone for a minimum of 10-12 hours a day is just the best.

i'll also look into forsyth, thanks soooo much!

Default Agree on the Cumming/Sawanee/Duluth area

You should be able to find lots of good options in that area. There is a good Catholic school (Pinecrest) in the south part of Cumming as well, exit 13 off 400 if you need to go private.
