This vet has boarding and was recently featured on an episode of "The Dog Whisperer." I don't think they would be too far away depending on what part of Marietta you will be in. I was so impressed with the staff and the way they took care of the abused dog they were trying to help. I don't think you could fake that kind of animal love!

While we're on this topic...
Is anyone aware of any place in the same area (Marietta to West Marietta) that has dog boarding that is staffed 24 hours a day?
I know someone who is having to have a major operation. They have no relatives in the area and they have a large Newfoundland dog that is too large for those they know to keep. They want to board it (it's used to being boarded for a day here and there), but they don't like the idea of dogs being in an unsupervised building at night (most vets close and no one is there until the morning, leaving dogs unattended). A recent fire on the news at one vet freaked them out even more, so they want to board the dog somewhere that has staffing there 24/7 in case of an emergency, so they can be assured the dog will be fine during the stay (about 2 weeks total).
thanks

We love Smith Farm Kennels, but they aren't particularly convinent to Marietta.
But it is a wonderful facility and they do offer pick up and drop off service, for a fee of course.
They may also be able to tell you of a similar faciiity closer to Marietta.

found this kennel in kennesaw
A google search found this kennel in Kennesaw that is supervised 24/7. Go to: "http://petplayplace.com" I was looking for a place that will take in dogs on Sunday which we'll have to do due to travel plans. Any other suggestions?

My sister, who investigates anything having to do with her "children" (Great Danes) to the Nth degree, uses a place out in Carrollton because it is a kennel at someone's home, so they get constant attention. If that is not too far away for your friend then DM me and I will get her phone # for you.

24-hour dog boarding
In answer to your question: 24/7 dog boarding at Blue Willow Farm in Milton/Alpharetta, GA, has exclusive, limited entry dog boarding, connected to the owners house and in a unique equestrian, farm, and garden estate, where the dogs are not just warehoused under fluorescent lights where the owners turn off the lights and go home for the evening. The owner lives in the house connected to the kennel, is a huge animal lover and caregiver, and personally attends to each dog where they have fun indoors and outdoors and where they can feel the sun on their faces and the grass under their feet. Blue Willow Farm at Blatchley Landing 10% of all proceeds benefit Georgia Poodle Rescue. There are also photo opportunities. Please help spread the word to those true pet lovers who want peace of mind when they board.

Have you heard of Safe Haven 4 Pets a not for profit that helps those with temporary hardships (medical) with the care of their pets so they can reunite when they recover? Their website for more information is www.safehaven4pets.org
They might be able to help you with 24 hour supervised boarding or foster care.
