I am trying to clean out a bunch of stuff and want to sell some books. I'd rather sell for cash, as opposed to trade. Does anyone know of locations to do this in the Smyrna/Marietta area?

Have you considered selling them on Amazon? They have a program where you list the books and then ship them to Amazon in a big box and they sell and ship them for you. You can also list them and ship them yourself when they sell. You make more money with that option, but it's more of a hassle. The main thing will be checking to see if your books have value on Amazon. Unfortunately, I don't know of any local options. Good luck.

I used to sell it to halfprice bookstore when I lived in texas.
I don't know if they have it here. Online is the best alternative.

There's a nice used book store (The Book Nook) not far east of the Big Chicken on Roswell Road in Marietta.

There's a smaller one on the corner of Paces Ferry and Atlanta Road in Smyrna, but she's very picky about the titles she will purchase. It's a nice store, though:

There's also a used book store on Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton, but I've not actually been in the place yet:

Not sure why we've missed this one, but I plan on correcting that very soon!

The East Cobb location of this one is new and I like it. It's in northern East Cobb though - pretty far from Smyrna.

Thanks everyone! I did go to one place up in Roswell (I work in that area), but they were very picky. I think they took 2-3 books and I walked out with $3. I may try the Amazon route...didn't realize I could send them stuff in bulk! Thank you!

The Amazon route is probably your best bet for cash anyway. But I think they get like 15% of the sale price and some other minor fees. They also have an option for textbooks that they will give you a gift card for the book. Just in case the seller didn't want the hassle of selling/shipping the item. You always have craigslist as well, at least with it it's local. May save on shipping costs also.
