I was just over to Centennial today and saw that there is a great resale on a good sized culdesac lot (Freedom Court or Lane, I think). There were tons of kids out playing all over the place. Their pool is really fun too! We went there last week and had a great time. We live on the other side of PTC and are thinking of moving to that area of town. Their home values seem to be rising faster than ours too.

Yes, we looked at homes in Wilshire, The Heritage and Centennial, The Estates, The Preserves, and all around the Kedron area. Drove through Chadsworth, Ardenlee, and a few other areas. We have a pretty wide price range so I looked homes in varying price ranges just so not to limit ourselves. We have been living in an older home now where we are and wanted to move into a newer home in GA. The Preserves and The Estates are a little less new but they all needed quite a bit of work to bring it up to what we were wanting. Gorgeous neighborhoods though!

Can I ask what SD you currently live in? We went to PTC this past weekend and looked all over and I felt pretty good seeing so many homes within our price range in all kinds of subdivisions. I did not see Centennial (I don't think we were up in that section of town.) We basically look south of Highway 54.

Yes, we went yesterday and looked around (did not go in any homes because we are not looking to buy until next spring or summer). I saw many of the subdivisions you have mentioned here. We went in The Estates to turn around and were quite impressed but they are obviously out of our price range. The Heritage sounds very familiar too. We looked in Sandown Creek, Rockspray, The Reserves, The Marks, Huntington Place, Crescent Oak, and Kenton Place. We looked in a few more but didn't like the areas.

Maybe if the house is more expensive maybe it is not built as cheap but when we were looking at houses 2 years ago when we moved down to GA we were shocked at how cheap the new homes were. I think Centennial is out of my price range anyway unless I want one of their lower end homes. We want a decent size lot too. I don't want one of those homes with like less than 1/4 acre or a huge cliff with no where for the kids to play. The nice thing about PTC is there are so many cul-de-sacs so there is not a lot of thru traffic. (I still would feel more comfortable having a fenced backyard for my kids to play in) I have been living on the MLS listings checking out all the homes in all the different subdivisions in PTC!
We were down in PTC for the 4th of July and saw about 10 homes with the realtor. We tended to like the subdivisions that are on the southside of PTC in the Braelinn (sp?) Elementary School or Peebles Elementary School areas. The houses in our price range, though, definitely would need some work like kitchen updates and so forth. However, my husband & I decided that we really like the idea of more land, so therefore the newer neighborhoods are not for us. Good luck! Oh - checked out the daycare Royal Learners & it is amazing! Such a difference when comparing to the Northeast!

Yes, we haven't looked "in" houses yet since we don't plan to move until next year but we liked what we saw in the Braelinn area too. As far as the Peebles area that seemed to be right on the outskirts of PTC and the only homes we saw that were zoned for that were out of our price range. What subdivisions did you look in that were zoned for that?

I have noticed looking online that some of the homes do need updates in the kitchen and stuff but we plan on living at our new home for a long time so we can gradually make those improvements. We also don't want a newer home- we prefer the quality of the older homes and the lot size. (although all the homes in PTC that are a little older have HUGE trees. We will be sure to have a couple leaf blowers and rakes for the whole family!!) Feel free to PM me if you want and let me know what subdivisions you liked.
