I am considering moving my family to the Atlanta area. I enjoy living rural. I am not a suburban person. I am very much into my family and doing family activities.

I am looking for something close enough to drive into the metro area to work.

GOOD SCHOOLS ARE A MUST. I have one child in high school and one child just starting school.

Areas I have been looking in are Henry County and Fayette County. Both have good schools, which appear to be a little overcrowded. And both are a little far (traffic wise) for commuting.

I am considering Conyers or Covington.

Any help would be great.

Milton in North Fulton has great schools and a rural feel with small farms, golf course(es?) and subdivisions. Not sure what part of the metro you work in or if you are in this price-point.

I'd look up in Cherokee County- while many parts of the county are now developed, there are still some fairly large parcels available for that rural feel, while still being close to amenities. You'd have a fairly easy commute to downtown, and the schools are excellent.
