I've researched this forum and still haven't came up with anything of substance.. I'm moving here and just want more info..

How is it? Is it "country" "bland" and boring"? or does it have some sense of excitement about it? I've been told that "henry county is considered the country"?

How is it in regards to crime?

How does it compare to other southern areas such as Fayetteville, Stockbridge, etc?

Any more info on McDonough would be greatly appreciated..

thanks in advance.

Go check it for yourself, or ask someone who actually LIVES there (not left a few years ago, then bash the place).
Not some bitter old nut (not speaking of you Suprascoob )

There's nothing better than checking a place out yourself. People on City-Data will give you their perspective. Some people are negative by nature, and they're usually the most outspoken. They always want to share the "gospel" with others. Then you have the "End of the World" types of posters. Another group to ignore.

Take a plane (or drive down), rent a hotel room in the area, or crash at a friend's, rent a car (if you flew down), then do your own investigation/research.

Drive in the area, talk to the people (and I mean different people, not just your demographics), and see it with your own eyes. Go with a realtor as well to get an idea of the housing stock in the area if buying down the line is in your plans.

Use this site for basic info, moreso than opinions. They all vary, and yours might be in agreement with many or fall somewhere in the middle. Good Luck!!

Your best bet would be to come visit the area and see for yourself. Some people think McDonough is awful, and others don't. It doesn't seem that bad compared to where I come from (Tampa, Fl). However, those who have lived in the area for a long time might disagree with me. I think it seems much nicer than certain other parts of Henry County.

Agree, you may love it in McDonough. You never know until you check it in person.

Been there a few times. It may not be for me, but for many it's home. That was my point. It will vary from person to person. Best for him to do some more research and see for himself.

So, it is what it is.....
