Hi, I will be moving to Atlanta in either October or November this year, and need your help. I am not sure of what areas of Atlanta to look into for apartment rentals. Here is what I'm looking for and maybe you can give me your picks on where I should look.

Rent- Up to 600

Close to public transportation. I don't have a car.

Safe and convenient to the downtown area

Also, if anyone could tell me, does the cost of living and pay scale in the area balance out? I don't want to live in a place where rents are expensive and jobs don't pay well. And, what are some things you love and hate about Atlanta? I want to get a feel for the city.

Thanks and appreciate all answers

Daniel because Atlanta has grown and has a lot to offer you would have to get more specific in your wants.

What size home or Apt.? Studio, 1x1, 2-bedroom? From the price range quoted Studio's, 1x1's, and some suburban 2 bedrooms fall in that range.

Crime is EVERYWHERE so be alert at all times and follow your SPIDEY SENSE!

Why convienient to Downtown without a car? Atlanta can be a challenge without a car.

What type of Jobs are you looking for? Your commute to school, work and home can be very taxing if you do not plan right

Which of those areas are most important to you? That will make your selection of an APT/HOME easier.

I love the pace of living and the fact that METRO Atlanta offers many flavors of living from Rural to Metroplolitan all within 1 hour of each other!

I love the diversity of the many cultures living and working together.

I hate some, alot of the traffic problems. I hate clear cut subdivisions robbing areas of its natural beauty.
