Default Still MORE movie news!!!

The AJC's Peach Buzz reported today on three more projects filming in the ATL right now:
-- "The Lost Valentine," a Hallmark movie starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Betty White (does that lady ever slow down?!)
-- "Marry Me" a romantic comedy starring Lucy Liu
-- Unnamed pilot for Lifetime starring Sherry Stringfield, Lou Diamond Phillips and Jamie-Lyn Sigler

Also, the remake of "Dirty Dancing" has put out the call for 2,000 extras needed for a scene to be shot Friday in Senoia. And two more major movie shoots are about to get underway in both Macon and Savannah.

At this rate they're gonna have to dismantle that Hollywood sign and relocate it to Stone Mountain! Will the last folks leaving L.A. remember to turn the lights off?

The Lost Valentine is filming today at the state Capitol. There are movie trucks all over the place.

The lifetime movie was filming in piedmont park yesterday, at the small dock. I think the attention these movies give Atlanta can be good for putting the Atlanta area on the radar of decision makers of other industries that may be thinking of moving thier business here.

Zombieland was filmed in totality in Atlanta (and surrounding area). And that was a GREAT movie.

It would be nice if some of these movies/TV shows were SET in Atlanta in addition to being shot here. I would like to see a good cop drama set in the ATL -- a CSI or something much better that really makes the city look good. With all the capacity for local shoots now I think this is just a matter of time. Any ideas?

Yes, I have an idea. Take Karin Slaughter's more recent books (not the ones set in her fictional town), which are crime novels. Make them into a series. Read Triptych to see what I mean.

The amusement park scenes at the end where they're fighting off all the zombies was filmed in valdosta. And some of it was filmed in california.
