What really upsets me is that politicians waste millions and millions of dollar to get elected when it could be used to help with our severe economic problems.

I think it was Nathan Deal who came up with the phrase "ghetto grandmothers". Come to mention it, Deal was also the one who questioned Obama's birth certificate.

I saw a TV news story today about the Democratic candidate for governor of Florida, Alex Sink, and she has a pretty distinct Southern accent (born and raised in North Carolina).

Sink is currently the Florida CFO (an elected office) and is leading some polls in the governor's race, so apparently having a Southern accent doesn't hurt you in Florida.

If she wins, that's going to be a blow to all the C-D geniuses who insist Florida isn't a Southern state.

Doesn't seem like the New York State Governors are much better. Elliot Spitzer was forced to resign because of procuring illicit escort services while in a marriage and the governor who replaced him, Paterson also engaged in some form of extramarital affairs.

Just sayin', eh?

My guess is that metro Atlanta would vote about the same way the rest of the state does.

I used to feel the same way until someone pointed out that all that money IS going into the economy. They purchase thousands of printed ads and signs from printing companies, helping those companies stay in business and pay their employees. They purchase radio ads and tv ads, helping local tv stations and all the employees that work for them. They rent out halls to hold debates and forums, helping those local businesses stay afloat.

All that money, is, in many ways going back into the economy. I know this for a fact because I work for a printing company and these policitical signs are a huge chunk of revenue for us.
