I am looking to rent a condo at either 905 Juniper in Midtown or The Dakota in Midtown.

If you have any information on either of these condos would appreciate it.

If you live there or know anyone that lives there- are they happy with the complex? what do they like? what do they dislike?

Thanks.

I got to look at both with a friend. Both are nice, but in different ways. The Dakota is more old school...more wood and softer tones. I think you get more bang for your buck at the Dakota, but it's still not exactly cheap.

905 is much more modern and more akin to the Novare condos lining Peachtree in Midtown. More exposed lofty and industrial looking, but in a refined sort of way. I think you'll have different versions of privacy in each. The Dakota seems more like a "guest" sort of place with more people having people over. 905 has a secure lobby and is quiet on the inside with not very many units, but it has the retail on the ground floor (I really miss that Brazilian lounge that I already forget the name of). Usher has been living in 905 recently, maybe still there . Both are very convenient/centrally located with enough parking for each unit, but parking at the Dakota seems to be more abundant which is why I think there are more guests there.

Great response jsimms3!

Here is my personal take:

The Dakota is a "classic". Classics are not flashy, trendy or new. The Dakota has maintained it's property values and there is never more than 10-12 listings at anytime (I know you are asking about a lease but my experience is with sales).

905 is modern and that appeals to some residents. It is the opposite in terms of The Dakota in terms of decor and overall feel. My main complaint about 905 is that the building is horseshoe shaped and many of the units have views directly into another unit.

The clients that I sold to in The Dakota love living there. Sorry - I don't have any first hand experiences with 905.

Good luck to you!
