Perhaps a quick study in home values and the local economy in those areas where Marta services would be in order.

Where Marta goes, jobs, property values and public education all decline.

We don't need subsidized public transportation to commute to the city. We need to move those misguided companies to the places where those employees already live.

You think I'm wrong? Well, take a hard look at the job growth in the outer perimeter over the last 15 years vs. the City of Atlanta.

And yet another advocate for completely paving over North Georgia.

How brilliant.

I challenge you here and now to prove any of these beyond ridiculous claims.

You hear that folks MARTA brings unemployment, poverty, and violence everywhere it goes. Someone tell President Obama to stop all buses and trains in the country so we can create jobs, world peace, and fix our education system...

You are new here so let me give you a few words of advice.

1. This forum is dominated by Liberals. Think 10 to 1 in terms of Liberal vs Conservative. I have said it before you would think we were in San Francisco based on the number of lefties that post here.

2. Prepare to be lambasted for your replies if they dont toe the Liberal dogma that so many on here preach.

3. DON'T ever mention race or anything that could be tied to race in the most vague ways. Example being what you have said about elimating MARTA. That will get the Lib's froathing at the mouth.

4. Providing FACT'S to support your arguements will NOT work here. See numbers 1, 2 & 3 for the reasons why.

Other than that you should be fine. Happy postings!

So you think subsidizing sprawl and super highways is a better alternative? Do you realize how many people hate Atlanta becuase of the traffic/ car culture and dependency and lack of density? Look at how much ATL is hated on this board. We are going to start loosing businesses and people becuase of quality of life issues.

Many of use NATIVES would consider this a good thing. FAR too many transplants moving here anyway. The traffic and infrastructure can't handle what we have now. Why in the world would anyone think that we need more people here. If you are so against sprawl than you should be actively protesing all the newbies that are flocking here.
