I believe her father is a Marine or serving in some branch of the military.

There have been a number of times that I hoped I wouldn't see this type of tragic accident when I watched reckless drivers zip around.

I think that was ruled out. I read a few of the articles and the defense was that a BMW or other car bumped her car--which was not accepted by the jury. I can only assume --because I don't care to read more- that she was somehow distracted, perhaps driving too fast or following too close?

Her dad is a contractor in iraq...

Secondly, no way she gets less than 40 yrs. The young man in gwinnett who did the same as was facing the same years and took the plea. I don't see no less than 70 yrs. She will be made an example. She has never apologized either, which won't work in her favor...

I think she is a real witch, and her parents, and if I were the judge, she would get the maximum sentence for each of those 13 charges. She would never see the light of day again. Whoever said she is going to do 5-10 is crazy considering the fact that the state offered her a plea deal of 50 yrs.

Her mother helped her cover up this accident instead of just going to the authorities. Why didn't she stop and try to help. She fled because she knew she did something wrong so bye bye we did not more careless evil people like her on the street.

I guess they will and I guess they should. She's ? 19 or 20. I can't help but wonder if that makes any difference. Leaving the scene and covering up her involvement makes it more difficult.

All the more reason to emphasize to each and every driver the need to be focused only on driving at all times.

I am watching this with interest. Remember the parochial school girl, Louise Brunstad, who tried to commit suicide on Roswell Rd by plowing head-on into another car? Her case hasn't even gone to trial after 4 years, although she was indicted on felony murder charges. The other driver died and her daughter I believe was blinded.

Aimee Michael did not set out to kill anybody. Her bigger crime was leaving the scene and attempting to cover-up her involvement. Those charges do not warrant life imprisonment in my eyes.

But, I will be very interested to see how this plays out compared to the sentence handed down to Brunstad.

I agree...this was not intentional....i mean she is going to serve time as though she committed a massacre on purpose....

Why not show some remorse though?
