Will be moving to Atlanta in August. Probably live near 85 and 316 to provide access to Athens, S.C. (mother) and potential work in Atlanta. Dont like the traffic but not sure who really does... may just have to lump it depending on where I work..

What would be the best apts or areas to look for a home. I am 57 divorced after 25 years of marriage. No kids and no pets.

Intersted in connecting with new friends, church, work, and aquaintences

Do not have a job yet but will look after I come down from up North.

What are the chances of new ladies in my life after I arrive. Are they plentiful around the Atlanta area? Where should I live to meet and mingle with them. I love to travel, drink socially, dont smoke, tailgate at football, watch tivo, cook, and hang out. Want to get my emotional, economic, and social life back on track after moving to Atlanta.. What do you recommend.
Let me hear from all of you...

Alot depends on what type of work you do, and where you may end up working. Renting an apartment prior to having a job can result in a 2 hour commute, unless you have a career that has opportunities all over the area. It sounds like you've got an idea that you want to live within as short a commute to SC as possible, but would you rather add 30 minutes to the occasional commute to SC, or add an hour to your dailiy commute to work just to be convenient to SC?

I'd at least take the temperature of the job market in your field before settling on a place to live.

Bob

I am on my way to Atlanta as well. I hear that the ratio of women to men is something on the order of 15:1. That's what I was told last week when I was in buckhead. Hey - I'm a pretty attractive fellow, so I am told and very manly. In two hours time - I was approached by 6 women of the extremely gorgeous nature...even at 57, if you go to the right age appropriate places...you should be in pretty good shape..a nice, clean straight male in Atlanta? Welcome to Mecca...
