People who choose to live in Birmingham choose it for a reason (mainly stunning views in all directions, quiet family friendly neighborhoods, and houses with a lower price tag than Atlanta). People who choose Atlanta choose it for a reason (more diversity, night life, more "city life"). Atlanta is not a "big version of Birmingham" nor is Birmingham a "smaller Atlanta". They are just different.

Natural beauty = advantage Birmingham by a long shot.
City life and diversty = advantage Atlanta by a long shot.
I have to agree,Atlanta has no history behind it.

Similar to the Dallas-Oklahoma City thing. People act like they are alike just because they are close but in reality, they really aren't.

I haven't read all 200 posts, so I've got to ask- am I the only one who doesn't give a **** about Birmingham one way or the other??? I also don't have a "view" regarding Charlotte, Nashville, Raleigh, or most other cities in the country. Maybe I'm just too busy living my life??
