Siding Contractor (Roswell, Alpharetta, Woodstock: houses, contractors, prices)

Can anyome recommend a good siding contrator? We have Masonite composite siding - which is actually in really good shape compared to other houses we've seen. But there are some areas that needs to be replaced and also some soffits that are rotten.

The people I have talked to so far want to replace all the siding on the house. I realize we might have to do that someday, but for now, we only need to replace the rotten sections. Any suggestions?

We are in the Woodstock/Roswell/Alpharetta area.

Have you tried going to kudzu.com to review companies? That is a good place to start...

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been to Kudzu.com, I tried 2 companies and they both wanted to replace all of the siding. I guess I'll try some of the others on there - I was just hoping to get a recommendation of someone who would do smaller jobs and is reliable.

Good luck with that....I am having the worst time trying to find someone to do my bathrooms. I have had 3 people come out, and only one to give me an estimate. I have been waiting since the begining of June...And I found them all from Kudzu. I am begining to wonder about the validity of kudzu

As a business owner who does advertise on Kudzu, you have to be very careful. some companies to have 40 perfect reviews at regular 1 week intervals, sounds very fishy to me! It will take some leg work but I suggest looking for reviews that have been spread out over a period of time, such as a year or so and not at regular intervals.
Another option is Angieslist.com. You have to pay for a membership, something like $6 a month, but the good news is that businesses can not pay to advertise there, they have to be submitted by satisfied(or unsatisfied) customers, so it seems that it is less likely to be fradulant reviews.

itpgardengal - thanks for the info, that's good to know. Have you ever heard of Home Reports? We got a booklet in the mail (they also have a website homereports.com), but I don't know anything about it, so I'm a little skeptical.

The way the Home Reports work is they are paid by the advertising contractor for each customer they send them. The businesses that advertise in the Home Reports are usually very good companies but, in my opionin, usually have much higher prices than another company who will do just as good of a job. I do think businesses have to be recommended to be able to advertise in the Home Report.They also follow up after the job in question is completed to see if the homeowner is happy, I am not sure if they follow up with every job or not.
