Hey, my fiance recently got a job in Tucker, GA. We are looking for a place to live and so far we have narrowed it down to Snellville, Grayson, Loganville, Dacula, or Auburn. We are NOT city people at all, and would prefer to stay away from the busy atlanta traffic. Any advice on those areas would be greatly appriciated.

Crime Rate?
Schools?
Commute to Tucker?

HELPPPPPP!!!!

Snellville is probably the closest - not a bad commute at all - 15 to 30 minutes depending on where and what time of day.

Grayson is not far from Loganville, which neither is that far from Snellville. Add another 10 minutes or so to traffic.

Dacula and Auburn are at the northern end of Gwinnett county - probably add another (at least) half hour.

School systems would be either Gwinnett or Walton County (depending on Loganville). Gwinnett has good schools and some not as good - depends on the specific area and schools.

Crime rate? Well, they all have pockets of really good areas and some not so good areas - best bet is to check with specific police departments or the county departments.

Loganville
Crime Rate? Low. Petty
Schools? Pretty Good
Commute to Tucker? Hwy 78. Depends on time of day really... anywhere from 30mins - 60mins or more!

HELPPPPPP!!!!
Loganville is a nice city to live in. In all the cities you listed, you will find heavy traffic. There is really no way to avoid the traffic unless you move out to North Georgia mountains but the commute alone would be worse because you would still have to encounter the traffic of the cities you travel through to get way up there....

Did you look into the Mountain Park/Lilburn area that feeds into Parkview High? The schools there are excellent and your commute would be much better than the other places you mentioned. It would be 10 minutes to Tucker, give or take. You wouldn't even have to get on Hwy 78. Back roads will put you out on Hugh Howell Rd.
