I don't argue with you about the law, etc, regarding tenancy. I'm just saying that landlords often know how to discriminate on those illegal things without an applicant being able to prove it.

Now, there are some landlords who only do Section 8 because they know it's a sure bet. I think you can safely say, for most cases, these are your good old fashioned "slum lords". They are essentially making a killing on welfare.

I don't know much about these guys, though. All of the landlords I know are like me, small timers with a few properties here and there or a small 4-8 unit building. I forget the threshold but there's a certain number of units after which the rules change for the landlord.

Now that is an interesting point. Does it matter whether the owner is living in the house?
