Atlanta is cursed as a sports town. People are always complaining about how the fans are so apathetic...well this is a MAJOR example of one of the reasons why.

To tell you the truth. I didn't even look at the game as a fan, instead, I switched to casual observer mode. I didn't enjoy the commentary because they did nothing but fellate Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Aikman was, as they say in Pittsburgh, a jagoff (or wanker for my UK folk). ATL just got dissed tonight: Aikman actually had the nerve to complain about an ATL receiver pushing off...how many times did he benefit from his receivers doing the same thing? I don't remember ever hearing a "professional" commentator bitterly saying "Forget Atlanta" or any other team during a live broadcast.

I also hated hearing the Kuhn chant everytime he touched the ball (same ish happened when we played the Ravens with the Heap chant). This is the downside to living a transient area. I'm sure the slackers at the World Wide Follower will use this in their annual "worst sports cities" article. This was just a bad game overall. Now I have to turn my attention to the Hawks (they're not going to do anything this year, or the next, or the next after that).

Now come on. The Falcons beat Green Bay early in the year. The Falcons simply played a horrible game, minus the first quarter, which wasn't bad.

Well, I agree it was a horrible game, but that was in no small part due to the Packers' secondary, defensive pressure and of course Rodgers and the offensive attack. Oh and the Packers' RB running right up the gut as the game wore on. No, as I've said this GB team is the real deal and there should be no shame in losing to them big. I'm a Patriots fan and am worried about a potential matchup with them .....

Nah, they had a bad game at a bad time, to be truly terrible, it would have had to have been the Carolina Panthers.

I was proud of the Falcons and of the way Atlanta presented itself. Truly a big league, class act. I'm sorry we lost the game but the Falcons program has made amazing progress from the wilderness of a few years ago.
