Hello,
I am going to Atlanta for studying MBA either in Georgia Tech or Terry college of Business.
Could you please suggest a cheap location to live & approximate cost of living in Atlanta?

Thanks

Id suggest buckhead, your avg rent might be above 1k$ a month. Youd be paying for the name of the area, the amenities, and property values.

Want something a lil more in your budget? Try out North Springs or the Sandy Springs area.

Id always look at East Atl or the Midtown area. Midtown is urban-ish and will give you that Manhattan feel if you want that. Beware, as crime can be an issue if you let your guard down walking around at night.

Oh, Id also suggest around Howell Mill/Chattahoochee Ave/DeFoors Ferry Rd. near Northside. Its not far from the AUC, GSU, or GTech, plus its quiet and rather hidden with no crime at all from my experience.

I disagree, why have him living in Sandy Springs where its a 15+ min drive (or even more) depending on traffic? You need to live near where your classes are as sometimes you can have classes 1 hour apart and it would be nice to be able to walk home between instead of sitting around. Check out midtown, right next to Gtech, relatively safe (although like the poster said be careful at night if walking), good mix of restaurants, and prices are pretty reasonable. Prices can range from the $700-$1500 depending on how nice/big a place you want. But it is very easy to find a 1 bedroom in that lower $700-800 range, add in cable table, internet, electric, and you are looking at about another $300 a month.
