On a totally different rant...

Atlanta needs more Jazz clubs.

Like Churchill Grounds. Old school classy places.

They also need to enforce the "rules" at Blues clubs in this town. If somebody gets up on stage at an open mic jam and starts doing their best Steve Vai impersonation they shall have all fingers but the index finger and thumb cut off on their fretting hand.

Carry on.

A hip sports bar will do well anywhere. A hip-HOP sports bar is a bigger gamble. As I mentioned, hip-hop has solid roots in Atlanta, and hip-hop themed clubs obviously appeal to a lot of Atlantans.

But who hangs out in airport bars? People with layovers. Atlantans do not have layovers at ATL. They show up and get on the plane, or they return to ATL from wherever they were and immediately go home after collecting their baggage.

Saying that a hip-hop club is a good fit for ATL (airport) because it matches the demographic of Atlanta's population displays a base level misunderstanding of what airports are and how travelers use them.

I agree and I'll take it one step further. Churchill Grounds needs to have more real jazz, and less of the Kenny G/Dave Koz electro-fuzak.

We've always liked Café 290 in Sandy Springs.

I had not heard the Steve Vai impersonator rule but heartily endorse it.

The last thing the airport needs is a hip-hop club. People shouldn't have to worry about their kids being exposed to that garbage while they have a layover at the airport.
Atlanta does need more options as far as music goes. Even if it was to open up, how exactle would children be exposed to it?

What kinda music are you looking for? I have no trouble finding stuff outside of rap.

Isn't hip hop usually played extremely loud in clubs, blasting away everybody within 100 yards? It's not exactly subtle background music like jazz.

It just seems like people are picking on the man's club before he's even had a chance to get out of the gate with it.

Um no, it isnt. Perhaps you should educate yourself before you come in with your typical bash everything black comments. Hip hop can be anything from rap to spoken word.
