Ohhh.....Very Interesting Rumor for ATL Residents

"According to news reports, the company, which makes everything from TVs to batteries to semiconductors, is considering whether to move to Atlanta, Chicago, Newark, Brooklyn, N.Y., or California, or stay at its current headquarters in Secaucus, N.J."
Report: Atlanta on list for Panasonic U.S. headquarters *| ajc.com

I would love to see this company come to Atlanta..I mean personally with the gruesome tax rates those other cities have (and awful sweet tea)...I think ATL is a no-brainer lol

That is very interesting and possibly exciting news. I am quite positive the location of Panasonic in Gwinnett whose building has been visible from I-85 has been located there since the 1980s. Given how large Panasonic is, it probably has had multiple locations in metro Atlanta.

Given that list, it almost sounds airport related.

Atlanta (major airport)
Newark (major airport)
Brooklyn (Laguardia, JFK)
Chicago (major airport)
California (very vague, maybe easy connections to Japan?)

But then again Secaucus is pretty much in NYC. So why move to Newark or Brooklyn? Chicago comes close to what NYC provides. California as I said is really vague and that state's finances look grim. If anything they are losing companies. If taxes is the issue why not Dallas? And it's similar to Atlanta otherwise. Must be the availability of sweet tea.
