or its surrounding areas? What has brought you to ATL and how are you finding it?

I have just recently moved here from London to Atlanta - or more specifically Snellville in Gwinnett County - and I am sooo happy that I have made the step to move. I relocated here with my son (14) to be with my husband and we have settled in really well so far. However, job hunting is one area which has proven difficulty but I have to give myself a chance as I have only been here two months!!!

Would love to read experiences from other Brits - and what is the best advice you would give me as a newbie to A-town?

Hello,

I from Manchester Uk, now in Utah at the moment, but moving to Auburn GA next summer when my husband retires from the Air Force, my Mum is there and she loves it. Sorry I can't be of much help but if you need some tea bags there is a shop called Taste Of Britain that you can all sorts of stuff in Norcross. Good luck and let me know how you are getting on.

That British food shop is good to know - I am going to get really bad withdrawal symptoms just from the change of food alone. I may start my own store
FLorida seems to have plenty of British food stores but not GA - so I was starting to get worried about the amount of posting my in laws would have to do from FL.
Good luck with your move - My husband gets out of the military in April (he's at lakenheath). We will probably build our house, so we will be there around September (will be in FL till then)

Good luck to you all

Ahhh ... thank you for the The Taste of Britain lead - I have just been on their site and found WEETABIX! My husband has just gone shopping and I asked him to see if he could see this item in WALMART! If he does not find it I now know where I can get it!

I love living over here ... it is October and I cannot believe how hot it still is.

I have settled in very well - however, you need to be able to have a car to get around as public transport around here is MIA!!

My son has settled into high school and is enjoying it. The first few weeks was slightly baffling as it is an entirely new system but it did not take him long to get used to it.

Snellville is a gorgeous suburb in Gwinnett County - it beats living in East London. However, I do miss my fish and chips and my people but I am very happy that I have moved out here!

Hello,

I lived in London for a few years and we were stationed at RAF Lakenheath for almost ten years. I know how you feel about missing friends and family, I hope you find some good friends in GA. I do like living in the US and I hope I like GA, I want to be near family. I am visiting GA next month for a week and I want to check schools for my daughter and look at houses. May be we can start a British Club when we all get there!

Be blessed
