Yeah... hate to burst your bubble - there are no trains in Buford. Atlanta's rail system (MARTA) doesn't even go into Gwinnett County at all (though they're going to allow people to vote on it at some point again). Atlanta also doesn't have any type of commuter rail service, so that's out, too.
Gwinnett County has a very limited transit (bus) service with one route that goes to and from Buford, but you'd have to transfer from it to another route to go toward Atlanta to connect to MARTA. The link to Gwinnett Transit is: Gwinnett County, GA: Gwinnett County Transit The Georgia Regional Transit Agency has an express bus route that starts south of Buford at the Discover Mills area in Gwinnett and goes into Atlanta from there. Their link is: XPRESS HOMEPAGE . Keep in mind that their system map is ALL "express bus routes" and not rail routes. Only MARTA currently operates a rail system in the Atlanta area, and 90% of it is only within the perimeter area (the beltway - highway 285). MARTA's system map: MARTA - Getting There - Rail Schedules & Maps The Atlanta region has long been known for having lots of smaller government agencies that do NOT like to cooperate together regarding transit. If you move here, keep up on the news, and whenever they bring up the opportunity for you to vote on adding transit to your area, make sure and take the time to vote. Otherwise, just like now, cars are going to stay the only option for the majority of commuters. |

There is commerical Norfolk Southern train track go through Buford, Suwanee, Duluth and all the way to Atlanta. Of course, there is not MARTA.
To OP question, unless you live next to railtrack, it shouldn't be too bad. I live about ten minutes away from the track. Most of time, I barely hear it and the interval is very short anyway. |

There is a railroad track that runs right through Dowtown Buford. It is not for public transportation is is like csx and frieght. I was just wondering how many times a day it runs through there.
Thanks |

I used to take my kid to Choi Kwong Do lessons there a couple times a week for several months. I saw the train maybe once every other week around 5-6pm. |

Whoops - sorry for the miscommunication. Many transplants are refering to mass transit when a train question comes up. LOL
