I went to South FL to visit my parents a week ago last Sunday, and the pollen count was in the 60ish range. I get back last Sunday and its pushing 4000, and this week 9000?!?! My eyes are really bothering me after being outside (I wear a mask if I'm outside any length of time...which itself ends up with a yellow tinge which would otherwise be in my lungs). Fortunately, I think we have peaked (9000ish seems more than an adequate peak)...and rain is on the way...sooner than later I hope!

I suffer as well. I've taken many medicines but none seem to work. I've been taking raw honey for the past few days (spoonfuls, as well as putting it in my tea) and my allergies have improved quite a bit.

You can get a fairly good idea of pollen counts in Atlanta here:

Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic

And you can also look a little further back than is immediately apparent:

Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (March 2011)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (March 2010)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (March 2009)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (March 2008)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (March 2007)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (March 2006)

Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (April 2011)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (April 2010)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (April 2009)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (April 2008)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (April 2007)
Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic (April 2006)

It seems to cross the 3000 mark in March or April just about every year for a day or two, and counts above 5000 happen once every few years.

Default Atlanta Pollen Season

Here in Atlanta the pollen count today is over 5,000!! Everything is so beautiful--but treacherous.

It's definitely back.

Having just moved from a house with a garage to a rental without, the pollen thing is driving me more nuts than usual. It's impossible to keep a black car looking clean for more than a couple of hours. I can't wash my car every day for such results. This is crazy. Maybe I'd feel better about it if there was a free carwash. It's not just that though, I can the pollen on my dog which in turn gets all over my place, my eyes are burning- it's like I need a do-over/high pressure wash on everything I own.

I feel your pain. In addition to the film of pollen, my car is covered in flower petals and stems from the tree branches that hang over my driveway. It's a messy time of year! I think we only have to deal with it for a couple more weeks, though. And you're right, a pressure wash is in order...

Moved here last summer and no allergies issuers at all...Until a couple days ago. Now it is sucking my will to live. How long does this terrible yellow pollen stick around?
