If B'n gangsta has nothin 2 do w/ it, then y do rappers like Plies lie so much about being a "GOON" and Jeezy tell exaggerrated drug stories? Y duz TI lie so much about choppers and "Watch wut u say 2 me"?

P.s. I agree with u, just askin? Im from ATL.

I'm going to say it's between Outkast and Goodie Mob.

Horrible choices....when you mention the likes of Young Joc, DFB, DJ Unk, and Boyz N Da Hood (though Jody Breeze is pretty nice).

How can you ask a question about "best ATL Rappers" and dont even mention Pastor Troy, Goodie Mob, Cool Breeze, Killer Mike, and T-Rock. You must only be into that mainstream stuff which is mainly garbage.

And for those who say rap isn't music, well, you dont have have to like rap. Sure, there are several songs, especially on the mainsteam radio these days, that are tasteless, with ignorant lyrics and simple beats.... but there are tons and tons of rap out there with some amazing production and top of the line quality, meaningful lyrics. Rap songs cover a vast variety of different topics and content just like every other genre. Every song isnt about degrading females and crime. Occasionally, some of these songs even make it to the mainstream. I mean, to point out a mainstream songs JUST out of ATL with meaning would be ludacris' (yes, I'm aware not all of his songs are meaningful, but this one is) song "runaway love" with mary j blige, which is about females growing up in a tough environment who finally break free to escape all of the drama in their life.

Dont be so quick to judge things you are ignorant of entirely based off a sample amount.

Pastor Troy nor Cool Breeze had any type of lyrics.. they just had good content and good beats. Now Killa Mike I definitely agree with you on. I have his Underground Atlanta mixtape that just came out and he goes hard.. very slept on. I think he would've done better had he never signed with Big Boi and Purple Ribbon because they didnt promote him whatsoever. I would have to say Dre 3000 #1, Luda #2, Killa Mike #3. I dont base my comments off of popularity or sales... but lyrical content and flow.

brownhornet.... Are you saying that a guy like Pastor Troy is not in the same league as ludacris because his flow is not as good and he's not a punchline/metaphor rapper?

Well, yeah, in that particular category you're right. I just think meaningful, deep content is more important than punchlines/metaphors. Both Luda and Pastor Troy are my favorite type of rappers, because they can make both good songs for parties/clubs...and also good songs with meaning/substance. Pastor Troy just makes more songs with substance than luda, so thats why I would rate him higher.

Metaphors and Punchlines are cool, but a rapper can be very gifted in that department....yet the whole song can be about nothing.

For an example, just look at most of lil wayne's songs. He can have some very clever punchlines, yet the whole topic of the song can be about doing drugs, cars, jewelry, etc.

Good Substance is ALWAYS.......just that...Good Substance
Having a nice flow and punchlines........MAY NOT always be used on a GOOD topic....so therefore Good Substance is more important than Good Flow/Punchlines/Metaphors/etc. to me....
