They can have a new stadium as long as it's as far away from Atlanta and Georgia as possible. I seriously wish they would move to L.A. or something.

I for one enjoy sitting in the constant temperature of 70 degrees. Plus there is no MARTA station close to that site and nobody will walk 1/2 mile from the GWCC or Peachtree Center station for a stadium. That site will kill the unique tailgating experience Atlanta has created known as "under the bridges". The Dome is perfectly fine!

I don't understand this kind of bizarre thinking. Why would you wish that a professional sports franchise would leave? Forgetting the pure and simple fan aspect of having an NFL franchise in your city, how about the economic impact of having that franchise in your city?

Cities spend hundreds of millions of dollars to lure away teams, so why on earth would you want the Falcons to leave? I thought it was a crying shame that a city like Atlanta couldn't support the Thrashers. Having pro sports is part of what makes a city a city and what provides that special bond among the people of an area.

I guess this is a byproduct of what's being discussed in another thread. Atlanta is just not a great sports town.

We're a great sports town and it would a disaster to lose the Falcons. I know there are always those who are disaffected when a club hits a losing streak but in general we Atlantans love our teams. In fact, most of us love them even they are losing!

Our group kept our Braves season tickets even during the wilderness decades.

Maybe that's true, and I was living here in the 1980s when Dale Murphy was the face of the Braves, and Deion was the face of the Falcon's who were lucky to win half their games, but today it seems like the Braves win pennants or are in the thick of the hunt and no one cares. The Falcons were #1 seed in the NFC last year, and it felt as if no one cared. This year they were the #5 seed in the NFC, and again....not much excitement.

Where are the signs wishing them well? Where are the people wearing t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats? Where are the bumper stickers and front license plates? I see 10x of that stuff for the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Thrashers left, and while they were here, who even knew it? They were invisible. The Falcons are next to invisible even during the season, when you compare them with the people running around with college stuff on their shirts and cars. There is no excitement or fan passion.

The final measure in my mind is the fact that I can buy season tickets at will, or game tickets on the day of the game. That would never happen in Foxboro, Boston, Green Bay, NY, Chicago, Philly, etc. There are people who wait on waiting lists for years for season tickets in those towns. Same for the Braves, as in the fact that they emailed me to try to entice me to buy PLAYOFF tickets in 2010. That is just sad.

Oh, stop whining. Have you ever heard of the concept of 'hyperbole'?

I've given up on the Falcons for real though. They've been one of the most consistently underachieving teams(45 years and they are JUST NOW able to put together back-to-back .500+ seasons) in the NFL since they've began playing and they've flat out embarrassed the city in the playoffs for two years in a row. I don't know, some perople are happy with mediocrity. Some of us expect more.

You want passion when it comes to sports in Atlanta?

Here's passion:

F#&K the FALCONS!!!!!!!!

I have said this before And I will say it again, we are in the south college sports are king. As An atlanta native I feel that a lot of northern transplants don't get this. If georgia tech or uga where in the national championship game it would be a mucy bigger deal than if the falcons where in the superbowl.

Damn cuz, that's how you feel? What have the Falcons done to you to make you hate them so much?

Yeah as a whole the franchise history sucks, but the team now is nothing like what it used to be from top to bottom. And even if was still like that, they would still be our loveable losers and why would you want them to move anywhere else?
