Default Are we all OK after last night?

Fortunately, I can report that the night was very uneventful in my area (Brookhaven/Dunwoody/Perimeter Mall) and I wish more people could say the same. I need to make some calls later to make sure my friends are OK....the radar showed them getting some nasty weather.

I think I warded off the storms by brining in all the potted plants and batting down the hatches....I guess they figured there wasn't anything worth storming on and went else where. The lightning show was nice to watch though.

Hope all you C-D'ers are accounted for!

Nothing but rain and thunder in Tucker at about 3 am. By morning, there was very little evidence that it even rained. It's nice to have all the sap rinsed off my car, though.

Glad we dodged a bullet. We were very lucky. The way this Spring has been going, I'll bet we're going to be going through this again within the next week.

I'm on the western end of metropolitan Atlanta. Wind and thunderstorms. I left campus relatively early yesterday evening, and never returned.

This spring is reminding me of the bad storms we had back in spring of 1998 when north Atlanta and Hall were pounded.

This recent weather is already up on Wikipedia and comparing the number of deaths is staggering....

All is well in Snellville, nothing but lightning, thunder and a little rain. I was a bit worried about the wind because I have a big tree in my backyard thats sitting right above our bedroom. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones.

I think we were very lucky in metro Atlanta. I did my part warding off the storm -- unplugging everything, etc.

Glad all is well.

So, so saddened by the tremendous loss of life across the South.

West Cobb got periods of heavy wind/rain/lighting, but no major damage. Several periods of the lights going off for a few seconds then back on, then off, on, etc. A ways NW though, Rome was hammered multiple times during the night.

They said the tornado that did the severe damage/destruction in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham stayed on the ground the whole time it came up into NW Georgia - something like 175 straight miles on the ground, breaking all records since they've kept track of these things.

We got quite a lightning show from our downtown apartment widow. And the rain was going sideways in the wind for a while. No real damage though -- just some limbs down here and there from the hardwood trees lining the Fairlie-Poplar sidewalks.

My husband is using last night as a prime reason why we need to finish the basement with a state-of-the-art Man Cave.
