This is a very interesting blog. As a Brit currently in the process of moving to Atlanta to start up a business, i'd like to add my views to the conversation.

I currently live in a town called Beckenham, Kent, which is a leafy suburb of South East London. In many ways, it's exactly comparable to Dunwoody Village, in terms of scenery and overall feel. However, the major advantage Atlanta has is the significantly lower cost of living compared to London. You guys really don't know how lucky you are to be able to live in such wonderful properties for relative peanuts. As an example, the home I currently worth is worth approximately £1m on the open market. However, this identical house would sell for approximately $400k in an area such as Alpharetta, which is supposed to be one of the pricier parts of the Metro Area.

Then there is of course the weather - without doubt the worst aspect of living in England. It's grey, rainy and the weather is temperamental.

I'm very well traveled, having been all over Europe, Australia, the Caribbean and the USA. I have to say that there are few places I have found to be better than Atlanta. There are so many opportunities for entrepreneurs to make a good life for themselves. I note that many on this board have a tendency to knock Atlanta, but my view is that this is common of people who have not experienced other places. Each place has it's pros and cons of course, and Atlanta is no different. However, I must say that all things considered, it really is a great City and I can't wait to move there. I'm planning to be there in September of this year to launch the business.

YouTube - Hard To Say I'm Sorry - CHICAGO.

I talked to the people at Candler--and this song was played at my brother's funeral--DV, Meth--it must not happen again--to anyone. I cannot abide hypocrisy---and they responded--do it better--forgive and move forward--that is the way the ATL has always rolled. Whomever you may be--when you see what is 'wrong' ---exerise your Rights--anyone can--might take 'a while' to see progress--but that is How We Roll--chill.

-had it not been for the African American influence we wouldn't be here today--I am convinced of that--Schweitzer---yes--there is more to life than anality--stay open--it works

--'Funky'--In the Midnight Hour--Wilson Pickett. A diverse and interesting culture--based on a firm foundation--when you see 'what is not right'--do something to correct it.

-- My brother--so much potential--Willie--and brilliant --math/science---I can't do anything about the past--but I can share what I have experienced.

Keep On-passionately striving for the Best---what is Good. That is religion--all beliefs that contribute to the development of a 'Village'. Public Schools--Government education--my alma mater is GSU--they know what they are about. I am grateful--doors opened for me--ideas that I didn't dare to dream. This is an Olympic City---do what you can. Possibilities--Freedom. It doesn't get any better than this. Alpha and Omega.

That's a coincidence, as I used to live in Surrey Quays also. I bought my first flat there in 2000 and lived there for 3 years. I grew up in South London (Peckham) so know the area very well.

I'm at the stage in my life where I'm ready for a change of scenery and lifestyle. Being an entrepreneur, the obvious thing to do was therefore to set up a business abroad, with Atlanta being my chosen location. It ticks pretty much all the boxes in terms of lifestyle, greenery, weather, cost of living, cost of doing business, and business environment. Atlanta is currently my favourite city by far, and I can't wait to get my Visa approved, which I hope will happen within 3 months.

You will really appreciate the city, coming from London, much more so than the locals do. It would be great to see you out there.
