I just drove in to work this morning, and Auburn Avenue, in the area near the underpass of 75/85 is absolutely filthy and smelly. The road is discoloered and there are a number of nasty puddles along the roadside and sidewalk.

Anyone know what happened over the weekend? Was there a massive sewage spill, or something?

//smell//air quality--if you think i know what goes on around here--think again---

if there is a smell in the air--somewhere there was a chemical problem

??something happened in DeKalb related to sewage--maybe that's it--the smells travel throughout the area

let me tell you this--a person from the DeKalb Parks and Recreation dept sent a response to a query from me---'I will be out of the office--dated 2010---contact X---at phone number---this is how things are going----if you have the power to do something, do it. I clearly don't. something happened in my inbox and i have to search the trash---that is my life.

My friend & I Was there yesterday...we stumbled on whatever was going on by accident. We were looking for the MLK memorial & walked right into the crowds from Jackson Street...we still didnt even find the MLK place. Lots of women so we just hung around talking to vendors. Seemed like so sort of fest...looked like the hood version of Dogwood Fest.

I didn't realize that was this weekend. Hopefully the event coordinators have a contract with a reputable hazardous waste removal company, because the state they left the area in is disgraceful.

This could happen anywhere. It's just part of the urban life.
