This is pretty awesome, everyone went from crying about being called racist to just telling us to man up and accept the truth w/out the political correctness involved, I guess p.c. means hiding your racism now a days.

You are correct. Overstaying a visa or immigrating to this country illegally is a civil offense. Here is a source confirming such: Q&A: Inside the Immigration Debate : NPR

Admittedly, there are many in this country who wish it were a criminal offense. So call it a Freudian slip.

Oh really? None of my views are un-professional or would lead to malpractice. Would you care to elaborate on how I would get disbarred?

Instead of responding to the rest of your post I'll also add this:

Where is this bizarre notion that illegal aliens are not subject to protections in this country even though they aren't legal?

For example, if we follow this train of thought, one might think it is ok for a citizen of the United States to string an illegal alien up like a pinata and beat them for as long as they want. For fun. Or how about driving up to an illegal immigrant, knocking them over the head with a bat and taking them to the authorities for deportation?
Illegal aliens are subject to some protections. Not being asked to prove citizenship is not one of them.

And seriously, do you have to be a such a p*$$y about it? I'm guessing you didn't play football in high school. The law doesn't let them get beat like pinatas or beaten over the head. They have to show they are citizens. If you think that is so damn horrible, you need to get out more or crack open a history book.

If you like those ideas or think they are legal, you would be wrong...and probably a sadist.
Nope. I would be right. And since I am the one who is going to be a lawyer, I will be able to do something about it, and you won't. Does it make you loose sleep at night that I want to be a politician?

Back in reality, every human being in this country (legal or not) is afforded the ability to life and liberty and protection from detention without reason as well as a fair accounting of the laws they have broken.
It's detention with reason. Reason: within the borders of the U.S. illegally.

It is no surprise that the two clauses that can used as a reference for precedence in those matters is the Equal Protection and Due Process clauses, which were enshrined in the 14th amendment of the Constitution which itself was part of a batch of amendments meant to end slavery once and for all.

You see prior to Emancipation Proclamation, the 13th amendment, the 14th amendment, 15th amendment, a bloody 4 year long war that caused the deaths of nearly 1,000,000 people and the near destruction of one half of the country some people thought that only Citizens and legal residents were afforded the rights in the Constitution and everyone else was not. These "everyone elses" were Slaves and that, along with a really bone headed decision in this case, was the justification those people used to keep the institution of Slavery in place.

Obviously, that whole mindset was totally wrong and those people who advocated it lost their fight. Both literally and figuratively as the Federal government and the people of the United States enacted the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments to the Constitution so those who thought that way would know that they were wrong. Of course, not everything goes to plan, so to just to make it very clear the Civil Rights Acts of 1866, 1871, 1875, 1957,1960, 1964, 1968, and 1991 made it super duper clear that you can not just do whatever you want to someone in this country whether they are a Citizen or not and that the Government of the Republic at all levels must fairly deal with all people.

It's the cornerstone of our society and it is literally what makes us free. Without it we are no longer free and will descend into tyranny. If you can not get with that idea, then you need to leave this country and find one that better suits your belief system.
While you make some valid points, they aren't relevant to the subject at hand. As a whole, you don't know what you're talking about. Con. Law for dummies and Wikipedia is not going to change that. As an axample, the Civil Rights Act of 1866 only applies to citizens of the U.S. It doesn't even apply to non-citizen legal aliens. In any case, I have already written two exam essays on the constitution and frankly, I don't have to prove anything to a self-proclaimed socialist.

Who cares what you think anyway? You can't do anything about it. The law will stay in place and the Supreme Court will likely uphold it. In addition, your Marxist dream of illegals overrunning the country won't come true either. Whatever though, applause on city-data is all that matters, right?

How professional of you. Lauding someone who thinks a lawyer should be disbarred for having non-leftist viewpoints. Were you asleep during LE&P class, or do you really agree that my viewpoints would be grounds for dismissal from the bar? I really want to know.

Hispanics want to work and they are hard workers. They have a great culture. And their food is great, too.

Lets see, Arjay and Zel Ya denigrate "natural born citizens" and "white kids" as "non value adding" and "NOT so wonderful" and that is just fine with everyone. In fact, Zel Ya says the hispanic kids/people were "wonderful", uniformly, apprently, nd have a "great culture" while some/many? of the white kids were "NOT" wonderful and, it must be presumed, have a lousy culture. How...charming...

Its tiresome. The constant tearing down and attakcs on the american families and people who built this country and made it great while illegals are praised as if we would wilt and die without them.

So yea, PC does mean hiding your racism. This is news to you?

As if your folks dont say things in private they wouldnt say in more public settings. Please.

I hope you pass the bar, BBC. But to do so, you really need to pay attention in your law classes.

To be clear, my understanding is that entering the country illegally is a criminal offense, and hanging out here without authorization is a civil offense.

The fact that 40% or so of them didn't enter the country illegally, and that another solid chunk of them committed the criminal act of illegal entry as juveniles, complicates things quite a lot.

How is a pro-immigration stance "Marxist" necessarily? In the famous words of Inigo Montoya, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

YouTube - ‪You keep using that word.‬‏

While I think immigrants can form part of a "proletariat" in some theories, I don't think Marx was all that interested in immigration per se. More to the point, with the references to "Cultural Hegemony" and Marxism, it seems like you're straw man-ing waronxmas's argument.

Suggesting that we have comprehensive immigration reform is hardly a Marxist ideal.
