Aren't those windows supposed to be pretty solid that high up? They would have had to come at the glass with pretty incredible force.

I walked by the W yesterday (unfortunately I forgot about this story or else I would have planned a different route) and have no idea how it happened. This was the type of window where there's a support bar about 36" above the floor (many condos have this; mine does). That's a height where you almost have to try to fall either above or under it. They apparently fell out the bottom window.

At 3 am in the morning....maybe there was alcohol involed. High rise windows should be a lot more solid.

It is hard to understand how this happened. I'm not sure what "play-fighting" is but it must be pretty intense if two people can crash through the window of a highrise hotel.
Very tragic.

What a terrible accident! - sometimes just clowning around can be deadly (wrong place + wrong time) AND having the window that loose for BOTH of them to fall through, woh.
