Hobgob is right. If you'll only have one car, you'll need to find a place convenient enough to a MARTA rail line that your husband take take transit to work while you have the car. Downtown is well-served by MARTA rail, most of the rest of the city is not, and depending on public transportation to get you around is not realistic in most parts of the city (and certainly not way out in Austell).

Decatur is fabulous. Sandy Springs/Dunwoody is very nice too. Of course, the most desirable neighborhoods on the MARTA rail line are going to be expensive so your budget will probably be an issue -- but if you can manage with a 1 bedroom you'll have more to choose from.

Hmm, now thats useful. One of the hotels the company I work owns used to be a Holiday Inn, it only became another name about three months ago because they couldn't afford the franchise fees. That could be useful.
