It was a response to another poster you obvious just took out of context. These blacks are moving from high transit areas to low transit areas in the south so no transit is obviously not a drawing point or concern, regardless why aren't you in one of the 20 or so transit post on the first two pages of this forum? You are just trolling here getting of the topic of black migrants.

I wouldn't call a metro area with a population as big as Atlanta's as "low transit," whatever the context you mean. If you're talking about public transit, obviously it's behind the likes of New York and DC, but I'd say it's ahead of somewhere like LA (although Waycross is probably ahead of LA...). If you're talking about regular commuter traffic, I'd say it's insanely high transit.

And to note, going by thread titles, the single non-aviation transportation related post on the first two pages is regarding a proposed MARTA fare increase.

You know I am talking about public rail transit and that the northern cities blacks are leaving have much more then the southern ones blacks are moving to whether it be Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, or wherever, so no, public transit as rail (since I have to specify for you ) is not a real concern if they are leaving it behind. Don't twist this.

Let me help you with that since you don't think we talk about this and that Atlanta has not plan and most of these threads are recent.

Atlanta Transit Expansion Comes Closer as Region Prepares for Tax Referendum

AJC: Cherokee could be tough sell on transit vote

Transit Summit Of Atlanta’s Northern Suburbs Seen As ‘Breakthrough Moment’

Transportation Survey

Some in Peachtree City want to leave the ARC from the potential regional sales tax for regional transportation

Where do you want Beltline transit to go?

As leaders compile transportation lists, signs emerge of cohesiveness, concerns

Design Your Own MARTA Expansion

More Suburban Residents Open To Mass Transit

Cobb, Gwinnett receive federal funding for light-rail proposals

Commuter Rail?? (I'm confused)

There, now go troll in one of those if you care so much about public transit. Lets get back to black migration to the south ( and not just Atlanta).

What kind of silly statement is that? Of course it's a concern! Just because you're leaving something behind doesn't mean it stops being important, it may just be a trade off that you may be willing to live with.

The article posted in the OP is about a massive influx of people to the south. How to move these new residents around on a daily basis is perfectly valid extension.

Oh but yes, I don't live in Atlanta at the moment, so whatever I have to say can safely be disregarded, along with JTJ1977 who easily had the most well thought out posts in the thread but is from Iowa and somehow "ignorant."

Most well thought out post? I thought this was about black migrations to the southern region, not Atlanta's transit.

I gave you transit threads you can rant on and learn something about Atlanta's plans.I know you won't read them but here they are again.

I think most people in the metro would be delighted to have a cool, modern rail/subway system that served their community.

However, there's no money to build such a thing.

Now go harass Houston folks about the ramification and whatnot.
That wouldn't be smart considering they have plans as well.

Correction, New York barely has more black people than any state. This is for 2010:

New York 3,073,800 15.18%
Florida 2,999,862 15.91%
Texas 2,979,598 11.91%
Georgia 2,950,435 30.02%

Within the next couple of years, New York will have the 4th largest African-American population. If it hasn't already happened...

It is inevitable that the three Southern states will pass New York sometime in the next five years. Heck, one of them probably passed them already. But these states are receiving too many blacks domestically and internationally and it outpaces what New York has received internationally from the Caribbean.

I don't think so.

There would easily be more money if Corporations and the wealthy were made to kick up more their share into the pot. So far it's only the middle class that's being asked to largely bear this burden, via the regressive sales taxes.
