Hi everyone.

I was wondering where the closest DMV is from Johns Creek for getting new plates and driver's licenses. Do I have 30 days from the time I move here to change my IL license to GA? What will I have to bring with me?

When I moved from PA to GA, I did not have to re/take the written test. Just paid my money and walked out with a lic 15 min later. ( I beleve you get a temp licence now, and they postal mail it now the new GA licence, with the added security in them they make them centeraly).

No you shouldn't have to re-take the test. As a matter of fact I don't even remember having to do an eye exam when I moved here but it's been 6 years now so I could be mistaken. But I know for a fact that if you have a valid license in good standing from another state you won't have to re-take the drivers test or the written exam.
