You can purchase a very nice hous in town for that budget. recommend looking in Morningside and Lenox Park neighborhoods. Ansley Park is well within your budget, too. The Morningside elementary school is very good - have a child there. Inman Middle school is very good.

1.5 mil! You can get almost anything you want with 750K, especially a foreclosure.

You can do 5 beds and 4.5 baths no problem with that type of $ in Atl.

The homes in the south are just so much more gorgeous than up here!

I knew there were many celebrities living in the northern ATL burbs, but from what I have read online there are many more than I expected!
I have some questions comparing Country Club of the South, Sugarloaf, and St. Ives?
-What one has more celebrities?(that can be a bad thing but also a good thing possibly?? Lol)
-What one is more established?
-What one is more preferred?
-What golf course and amenities are better?
-Gwinnett vs Fulton

I am now starting to look into intown communities! It's amazing how you can have a house and yard in the city of Atlanta!

If you go for an intown location (beautiful homes in very nice areas with high price tags and higher crime) be prepared to pay for private school tuition. You would probably go private living in Buckhead, too.

For a gated community, there are several very nice ones in Roswell and Milton where the schools are very good, but kids in my subdivision go to a variety of private schools as well as public. In your price range, I would think that a huge percentage of families are paying for private schools even when the public schools are good.

What part of LI are you from? My husband is from Great Neck.
