Then would you like to tell me what pattern you were referring to? Because people have been killing random people since the beginning of time, that's not really a pattern.

Oh, also, didn't he turn himself in pretty quickly? I thought I read something about him turning himself in after hearing on the news that police were looking for him.

It all sounds to me like a psychotic break - seemingly middle class family, a simple temporal-spatial connection to the victims, quick surrender to authorities.

Last thing...he's 22, right? That's about the age that serious personality disorders become apparent - such as schizophrenia. I mean, often there's signs of it after puberty but people usually don't have a full-on break in their reality until their early 20s.

I won't say something tasteless like "I'd bet money that this is what's going on." but I will say I have a lot of confidence in this conclusion. I've worked with psychiatric researchers in my past job and this sort of terrible episode sounds like a textbook break.

You are the one finding "patterns" not me. I simply posted four similar tragic, random cases. You can choose whatever "pattern" you want from the facts of those cases....that's a "you" issue not a "me" issue. Another "pattern" you could find is that all of the cases had a female victim.....does that mean I hate women? One "pattern" sure to develop is that young females living in Midtown are going to be thinking about moving out.

uh-huh. So you just picked a hand full of random murders for the sake of doing so?

Yep, now if you want to find one of your proverbial "patterns" on this forum simply go to the advise being given in this thread regarding "good" school districts:

I look forward to you chastising all of the folks on this thread as well....LOL

Really, that's what you got? Change the subject and provide a 4 year old thread as "proof"

I love how this one incident, BECAUSE it was in Midtown, is 5 pages long and oh my god HOW DO PEOPLE LIVE IN THE CITY WHERE HORRIBLE ATROCITIES HAPPEN. And then a loon in Woodstock who is a white male child molester that set a kid on fire is posted, and not one reply. The intown bashing authority is strong on this forum.

Pless and Lovin are correct; the average age for a first psychotic break is between 18 and mid-20's. Obviously, I know zippo about this guy, but it will be interesting to see if supervisors, co-workers have anything to say about his behavior. Sometimes, though, schizophrenia manifests itself in terms of withdrawal and becoming more quiet and suspicious vs. the kind of behavior you often see in homeless schizophrenics (e.g., the guy on the corner wildly gesticulating and talking to himself). Again, I have no idea of this particular guy's history, but use of drugs can also accelerate the underlying psychosis. So, anything is possible.
