Not to mention the coolnes factor of having an urban, intown neighborhood dominated by Asians. South Downtown would make a perfect Koreatown.

I dunno... it appears that most Asians & Koreans here in Atlanta would rather live in Suwanee, JC, and Duluth, over south downtown.

Interesting to note the growth of the Asian-born population in Atlanta.

Yes, I think most Asians prefer to live in the NE area of the metro and not so much in the other areas. As already mentioned, places in particular: Alpharetta-Johns Creek-Duluth and Suwanee.

I believe Shakerag Elementary school in Johns Creek is majority Asian. The demographic makeup of the residents have definitely changed significantly in some parts of the metro over the past decade or so.

That is exactly my point... Johns Creek asian population doubled in 4 short years... if this trend continues we will easily surpass 40,000 Asians in Johns Creek by 2020.. That is 40% of the Johns Creek population... the place you can see Asian population boom like that is in Los Angeles county back in the 1980s.

I always thought that Doraville was the old Korea town and Duluth is the new Korean town? am i correct?
Just my opinion, but I think most Asians that come to the USA now gravitate towards the suburbs, not intown / downtown. Its all about that picture perfect house and subdivision, good schools, etc. Living the american dream that we see in television and movies.

Since this thread turned in a Atlanta Asian thread.. just have a question how i can get the 2 Atlanta korean channels. I have comcast internet and tried an antenna for my TV but i was only able to get 5-6 channels which was a bummer. Is there any way i can get these 2 Korean channels without subscribing to Comcast Cable?

Thanks.

My friend has to check Korean copyright laws before I can post the actual page just to make sure it wouldnt be illegal.

Also, I will post an AJC interesting article from last weekends paper about Forsyth and how many Asians have moved there.

"Atlanta: the Asian Mecca of 21st Century America" - I LOVE the sound of that!!

This is an oddly-specific goal.

Why?

Because he doesn't wanna have to be around working class black people when he goes into the city?

Wow. If this keeps up, Atlanta will become the mecca mecca.
