Well, being we have the extended Marta thread going on and everyone has different opinions on why/or why not we have or need Marta extended. I'd just like to see how long people have lived in Metro-Atlanta.

Also, where did you move from?

Myself, 29 years, born and raised.

Default How long have you lived here?

What about a category for the newbies? Since June 07.

I moved here in 1984 from Charleston, West Virginia.

Through the years though I've moved further away from the city, starting out pretty much almost downtown, then to Brookhaven, then Vinings, and now out to West Cobb. I would like to relocate elsewhere if the funds allow me to - the sprawl and traffic have beaten me down. LOL

My wife and I have been in the Atlanta area for almost three years now, and we moved down here from the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro (Eden Prairie). We rented a little house in Snyrna for the first nine months, then bought a house in the Mableton area 25 months ago (spent around six months driving around and learning about the areas around Marrieta/Smyrna/Vinings that we thought we might want to settle down in, as well as some areas east of the river, since we both work near the Cumberland Mall area).

In some ways it's been a culture change, and in others not. We miss some of the store chains and restaurants up there, but found new ones here which in some cases are better. :-)

Yessir, natives in the house! We are here, representing full and strong for those people who say that there aren't that many...we are standing strong! I think there should have been a selection for "born and raised"

Proud to be an Atlantan (and yes, please get it right, it's not Atlantian) and I would not go ANYWHERE else!!

Grew up in Boston, and moved to Atlanta in 2004 to attend business school. I didn't know anyone here but thought I would enjoy the new experience. Met my future wife in school and we decided to stay here. My wife is from Nashville and would like to move there eventually, but for now I'm very happy here.

31 of my 32 years - my dad worked for IBM which was known for making nomads out of families back then and this was the final stop. Originally born in Minnesota, but obviously don't remember anything about it.
