Hi Everyone! First off i'm new to this forum so pardon any mistakes i may inadvertently make!

Ok so my quandary is how to get to Augusta from Atlanta and back at the cheapest possible fare? I've checked greyhound and it costs $82.50 return. I'm new to the are so i dont have much of an idea about the public transport.

I would highly appreciate any help with this regard. Thank you!!

Sincerely!
Desperate

Hop a train heading out on the CSX Georgia Subdivision, it goes directly to Augusta.

There really is not any public trans out to Augusta that I know of. The best way would be to drive.

My wife's family lives in Augusta and she's used the shuttle bus that leaves from Hartsfield Jackson Airport several times. Here's the info. The fare is $110 round trip for an adult:
EZ Ride Augusta Atlanta Shuttle Fares

You've been hoodwinked LOL....yea, he was just being facetious.

Honestly, I think the cheapest thing to do is just drive, but it sounds like that's not an option for you...

Sadly, driving or taking the Greyhound is the only way to go. Other than flying Delta, which I'm sure is NOT an option! It's not a bad drive -- about 2.5 hours each way -- but the cost of gas vs. the bus may be too prohibitive.

If it works for you I would use the EZ Ride Augusta Atlanta Shuttle Fares, its right at the airport, you dont have to go on subway (marta $2 each way +ridecard $.50) up to grayhound (airport stopped are limited) . Depending on where you are going you can get the van to drop you off other then the van depo.

Note only 2 of the grayhounds are express, Other take lots longer with stoppes.

Keep in mind grayhound. may be 'cheaper' but also factor in getting to the grayhound statation, how long you will need to wait for the next bus, where the bus let you off how are you getting to final dest. Also keep in mind the 'last' bus goes out at 18:50, if your flight is late you may not make it, Plan 30-45 min on MARTA (Subway) to get there from the airport. Most International arrive around 15-1700 plan 1hr for customs. re-clear secuirty, get to main terminal, get your bags again from baggage nother 30min Take subway to bus depot. you might not make the last bus there.
