My husbands new job is in Kennesaw and mine is in Carrollton... Is it possible to commute from Kennesaw to Carrollton or is there somewhere nice in between? We have two children in elementary school and one in middle school. We would like to buy a home for 200k or less. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My office manager has commuted from Carrollton to Cumberland/Galleria area for the last 15 years and I can tell you that drive is brutal. If you add on the Kennesaw to Windy Hill section, you're talking about a daily nightmare.

You can try to split the difference and live in the Hiram/Dallas area. Both your and his commutes would just be backroads. Some pretty good schools out there. Or you could try Douglasville and run the 75-285-20 commute.

Definitely would not commute from Kennesaw to Carrollton. Unless you are making MAJOR $$ out there, it's not going to be worth the time/$$ you're going to spend A) away from your 3 kids, and B) on gas, and C) wear on you and your car.

Staying under 200k in this market is not hard if you're further out in the burbs like the areas you mention.

Thank you for the info. I will check out Dallas and Douglasville.

I'd suggest the New Georgia Community of South Paulding. The commute to both Kennesaw and Carrollton would be roughly the same, in my opinion.

Paulding County is your best bet. South Paulding is probably a little more central to those 2 cities than the rest of Paulding. I agree with Stars&Stripes about the New Georgia community. That area is roughly 30 minutes to Carrollton and about 40 minutes to Kennesaw.

No way would I ever do that commute.

I agree that Paulding County is the best bet here.
