Does the Atlanta Police Department have a page on their website which shows daily records of who was arrested, i.e. a blotter, possibly with mugshots?

For a list of inmates, you can try the Fulton County Jail website, which is searchable by name, date of arrest, and booking number.

For mugshots, check out the News > Police & Fire section of the patch.com sites for a variety of neighborhoods in Atlanta. They don't all have mugshots but the ones that do are updated frequently.

I personally believe the Mugshot galleries are an invasion of a person's privacy - under the veneer of punishment authority - and one that will last forever regardless of whether the person is actually guilty.

Okay, I'm down off my soapbox now.

I hope you'll stay on that soapbox. The presumption that people are innocent until proven guilty is so basic to America and any free society.

Sadly, these days a lot of people seem to assume just the opposite. That road leads directly to fascism and oppression.

ETA: I need to take down that link I put up too. It makes me look like a big fat hypocrite.

asfik fulton doesn't make records public just because you have been arrested. i need to check but i think you need to have been indicted for the arrest record to show up on their public system.

many people are arrested and subsequently released due to errors, most commonly for suspected dui, which once scientifically tested comes back negative.

the problem with being arrested is that although it means nothing by itself, they get you in the system so you are run up against any and every crime past or future. you are an automatic suspect because you are now in the sytem. dirty secret? they want you to be arrested, because then they have you... you know, just in case. good for arjay for seeing the whole correlation between big brother and the system. but not many do, and fewer fight to have arrest records deleted. yes on non felony you can have them expunged, with good enough laywers, if you were wrongly arrested as later determined by a trial or exonerating evidence prior to such. Of course, its the one thing the state least likes to do. aka juvenile records.. they are really not deleted but sealed and can be unsealed with due cause. The seal is automatic @ 18years.

and when they can't arrest you, ga has a little law that basically enters you in the system for anything domestic. cops are required to file a report with parties' names and just general description of incident on anything that is considered a domestic disturbance/dispute. it is not an arrest record and it isnt centrally located, but it is kept on file in your local PD and can be accessed if somebody looks hard enough. So pick your roomates carefully.

Most non-ass backwards counties who have a decent IT department have the ability to do arrest inquiries online. And it's a common complaint that arrest does not equal guilt, and in most cases there are ways to have it removed. Sometimes requiring a court order after you are found not guilty or the charges dropped

I'm more worried about criminals than police, but I'm weird like that.
