Default Best School Districts & Best Area to live

I am curious to know what are the best school districts in the Atlanta Metro area. Also where is a good place to raise kids, my husband is looking at Virginia Highlands. We would like to find a good area with low monthly payments for rentals but we would like our kids to be in good schools.

Thanks for your help.

Tami

Look in the this post and then copy questions and answer them here. I can't imagine low rent in VA Hi so I am curious what your husband is looking at.

Moving to atlanta soon? Read this first

This is a metro area of 5 million people. There is no one best. There are pros and cons about many areas so give us more information and we can narrow down the areas that best meets your needs.

The attraction of VaHi is its location. Don't get me wrong, it is a great area but if the only information I had was low rent and great schools. VaHi would not have been any where near the top of my list.

What would be the area at the top of your list? He is going down before us and so I'm just trying to figure out areas and schools.

The top of my list is determined by the answers to your lastminutemom's post.

Everything depends on the location of your job. You can have a great neighborhood, schools, whatever but if you are spending 3 or more hours (not unlikely here) in a car battling traffic, your quality of life is not going to be what you would like.

after looking at all the public school districts in the metro area - I decided to move to decatur for their school system.

but it really depends where your job is - My wife and I both work downtown. However - if we worked in alpharetta I would have had a totally different search. Thus the need to know where you would be working.

My husband works on 990 Toffie Terrace, Atlanta, I'm not familiar with the area so I'm not sure exactly where this is and how far away we could live so he is not in traffic all day. Thanks everyone for your help.

Is Peachtree City a nice area to raise a family and good schools?
