Impressive --hmm m-- not a fan of Pulte or Ryland -- not sure of some of the other -- surprised Wieland isn't higher up the list.

Wonder how they would all stack up in a quality and not quantity rating... My guess is that many smaller builders would score much higher than most of these big guys.

Right. Sheer volume doesn't tell much about their product.

I too have heard some not so great things about Pulte...Sharp too but have no 1st hand experience with either.

We should have our own list of the top ten builders in Atlanta from our own experiences. I think that Ashton Woods and Harcrest Homes builds quality homes. After seeing the after service of Peachtree Residential I am very disappointed. I don't their marketing slogan of "The builder that listens to our customers" is an accurate assessment to who they are.

In what regard?
That's a list of the top closers in metro Atlanta- big deal!
They're lucky they sold what they did. And as others have stated- the list would probably be dwindled to almost nothing if it were a quality ranking.
Especially with the national builders. Regional and local builders tend to fair better in this category simply because they have too, to survive.
The national builders have investors to answer to. It's nothing more than the bottom-line. Either the stockholder makes money or he find another place to invest his money. In order for national builder to meet the bottom-line, they strike deals with suppliers and vendors (volume buying), and then pay the subcontractors little or nothing. Cut corners, value engineer the plans (not that that's a bad thing), and eek by the minimal code requirements. And that's just the start- where they really make the money is their "own" mortgage companies.
