Many different area's for eating and shopping, like Castleberry Hill, Decatur, Va-Hi, Little Five....

A great variety of restaraunts.

Very nice weather 8-9 months out of the year.

Lot's of different festivals, and now we have the Echo Project coming in October.

The positives I could muster up:

Trees
Dog-friendly
Large sports venue (especially if you're into SEC NCAA sports.. coming from Wisconsin, I doubt though)
Big-name concerts

In your case, coming from Wisconsin, I guess you can say proximity to beaches...

Beg your pardon, but thats quite an assumption that ALL of us fall into one of the two catagories. I have lived here for most of my life, but I have also lived elsewhere (north of the mason dixon line) and I can tell you this...I do know better.

Sorry to butt in, but if you buy in advance, you can fly most large cities direct for less than $250. And you can fly to Florida or NYC for less than $150 because there are so many airlines that serve ATL. Plus, it's Delta's main hub city and they fly most places.

Ok, so the point being that its cheaper because its a big airport that most airlines fly to? If so, I agree...just didnt really understand that from what the other poster wrote.

Yes, that is what I mean. You don't have to fly to a hub, because we already have one here. We have more carriers and more direct flights to choose from than other airports.

Gotcha, you do have a point with that.

You've lived elsewhere so you do know better. What I was saying is, people who lived in Atlanta all their lives think it would be better to live somewhere else -- anywhere else. I knew so many people from college (I went to Tech) who were born and raised in GA, then escaped once they graduated, only to come back to Atlanta because they missed it so much. Of course I can't speak for everyone, I'm just saying what I've seen from the group of people I know.

Yeah, you can also put me down as someone who was raised elsewhere, lived elsewhere and now lives in Atlanta, but who knows better, too. Sorry. LOL
