Default Hey NY tranplants -- help seeking Chinese

Is there anyone in ANY part of Metro Atlanta that has found a place that offers anything decently resembling what we might have eaten in NY? I grew up with a particular sense of chow mein. I'm absolutely amazed that I can't find anything remotely resembling 'my' favorite chow mein. They put carrots in it, don't shred the chicken, sometimes its not even in white sauce.

Anyone found any chicken chow mein that would be the simple concoction of celery, onions, maybe mushrooms, maybe some chinese cabbage and a little chicken in a nice white sauce, not overly spiced?

I'm hungry . . . .

Sorry, can't help you there. All I see are some chains such as "Golden Buddha". I doubt they have what you're looking for. But after leaving LaGuardia a few days ago, I knew what I would be leaving behind .....

There is some good stuff in Chamblee or Doraville. Look along Buford Hwy, I'm sure you will find something. Personally I really like the Canton House, its on Buford Hwy just south of Chamblee Tucker.
