It's the incentive package that Florida offered. They are essentially giving Time Warner over $3,000 per employee to locate the jobs there. That ends up being over $1.5 million in incentives to move the jobs there. Not sure if that is such a good deal for FL tax payers...

Hmmm, I wonder how Tampa ranks...?
High enough to bring in Time Warner.

That's pretty much what it comes down to these days, particularly for jobs where no special or high skill set is needed.

OMG you have no idea how funny this is:

1. Our weather is NOT better. Atlanta has the WORST winter of ANY southern major city. Tampa is a vacation spot for all northeasterners during the winter.

2. Tampa AVOIDS hurricanes, and is famously known for being the major city in Florida that doesn't get hurricanes.

3. Tampa has an entertainment district that rivals all of Atlanta's entertainment districts combined.

4. LMAO at "more" woman and larger airport, more shopping also LOL. That all may be true, but MORE isn't always BETTER!

5. Public transportation. LMAO, of course you need public transit, in Atlant IT"S NOT FOR CONVENIENCE< it's because 99% of the POPULATION IS ON WELFARE AND HAS NO CAR!!

I love seeing the "free market" at work. Rick Scott and those other tea party folks sure are principled down there!

Compared to many incentive packages offered around the country, that cost per employee is a bargain.

Are you serious with this? Oh, and tell those Time-Warner folks not to stand under any trees.

Well I guess people in New York City, London and Paris are 100% "on Welfare and have no car" because they have far more public transportation than us.

I certainly think Atlanta has much more to offer than Tampa does. Think it may have been a great presence for Time Warner. What it comes down to is politics and the administration not making it right and attractive to lure them to Atlanta. I comes down to dollars and cents. The city of Atlanta and outlining areas outside the perimeter would flourish if we just had the state incentives including a state wide transit system either bus/train.
