Default Anyone looking for a New Home Development in Grayson,GA?

Hey all. I am a Floridian who just relocated to Atlanta. I have been doing alot of research and decided to settle in on Grayson, GA. I found a small home builder with a good reputation called the Richardson Housing Group-who just won a 2007 award for one of the best business in Georgia (Richardson Housing Group. Follow Us Home...). The project is called Hollowstone and you can ask for "Stephanie"- she is really great and tell her that Sandra sent ya! This is a swim/tennis community which is rare to find in the Grayson/Loganville area starting in the $230's for a 5 bed/3 bath home. This project looks like it'll do well as it is the best value in the area. The location is great too. It is right dab in the middle of Hwy 78 and Hwy 20, and again Grayson schools. Well, I hope this helps anyone looking in the area. I have been looking for 6 exhausting months and now that I have found this project I want to share it with others who may be in the same boat . Good luck, and if anyone needs further information I'd be glad to help, and check out the website for youself and make an informed decision.

Did you happen to look in Hawthorne Farms? I have looked there and loved it but I dont know a whole lot about the area but I do love Grayson and the schools are top notch..I am looking now for tempry housing till we can again look to buy(delayed by 3-6 months)...The place you mention sounds nice...check out HF too. I really liked it..but like I said I dont know a whole lot of the area or development itself..It is built by KB Homes and is right on 78....Lisa..PS what part of Fl did you relocate from? I am moving to GA in Sept(I hope) from Naples FL....

Lisa. You actually pass right by Hawthorne Farms before getting to this community I am speaking of which is only a block or two down the road then you make a left into Loganville/Grayson. Personally I did not care for Hawthorne Farms there was just something about it that I couldn't put my finger on-so I just followed my instincts and looked elsewhere. The great price drove me to it, but after driving around it just looked like a community that wouldn't hold it's resale value in the long run. With the price being go affordable, I think alot of investors will be renting them out soon which is not too great for a community of homeowners. Also, just so you know they are in closeout anyway, so by the time you are ready to buy they might be sold out, unless you plan on getting a resale. Also, KB does not have the best reputation as a builder. As a matter of fact there used to be a website called KBhomessuck.com (dont know if it is still up and running) which had the complaints from KB homeowners across the country. KB is also in the middle of a lawsuit for buidling homes out West on "live" land mines. So just be careful. As I said, I've been doing alot of research for several years as I am an extremely picky buyer. I'm also a liscenced Realtor (in Florida), so alot of my information comes from that as well. Let me know if I can be of anymore help. I think these message boards are great so that we can help each other out. I am from Miami by the way.

Hi,
Yeah I have heard of KB rep in other places. I have heard plus and minus on both sides. As far as HF goes I am sure they will be sold out b4 I can buy. It is funny that you mention something that you couldnt stick your finger on it ..I had exactly the same feeling and still do. How strange.

Well for now we are looking for a short term rental that is in Norris Lake and the school my daughter will be attending Snellville Middle which I have not heard alot of praise for but I also know what kind of parent I am and my husband and I know that if my daughters education slacks I will have no issue whatsoever with speaking my mind for my childs educational needs. My daughter is very bright and I see her thriving no matter where she goes and hopefully it will be a wonderful expirience. I am looking forward to the move. Do you recommend any moving companies from Fl to GA that are not going to charge highway robbery prices....Any help you could give....would be great...Thanks..Lisa

As far as the movers go, I think they all suck. We used a company called Flat Rate Moving, who gave us a Flat fee based on the content of the stuff that we had. There was no horror story when the goods were delivered- the price was the same, however they assured me that they didn't subcontract their drivers/movers and low and behold my stuff came on some other companies truck with two movers (one of which was like 78) who broke 2 peices of my furniture. So to make this long story short...no moving reccomendations, sorry.

Hi there,
I had a similar thing happen to me when I moved from NH to FL three years ago. They subcontracted out the move(after telling me they dont do that) and my stuff sat in a diry roach infested warehouse for 3 wks..We didnt have our stuff until the last week of the month we moved. I was not happy. They tried to bill me more than 500.00 than they quoted me and the driver (God bless him) took what they quoted him and me on the form and not what he said on the phone conversation that I was chewing his butt off on...lol ...When he found out that I paid less than what he wanted and had a reciept stating paid in full my phone rang off the hook for a wk..Needless to say I never returned his calls....What goes around comes around. That is why I am looking for a moving company with integrity and care and one that is fair and not out to make a buck at the expense of the customers. Thanks for your points though I do appreciate and completely agree. Hopefully I will find one that is acceptable and if not I will just do it myself...uggg what a thought that is lol..but at least I know it will get there in one piece or at least who's fault it is if it doesnt lol....Lisa
